The Department of English and Philosophy develops in students a fluency in the use of English that enables critical thinking and cogent discourse and teaches the value of a rich literary heritage. The departmental curriculum is designed to meet a variety of interests: literature, creative writing, linguistics, rhetoric, cultural studies, mythology, and professional writing.
