Advancing the profession of technical communication across New Mexico

Cynthea Kinnaman
Co-VP Programs

Cynthea Kinnaman has been writing professionally for more than 14 years for Fortune 100 and 500 companies as well as high-tech start-ups. Most recently she served as a Sr. Technical Writer on contract to Hewlett-Packard, writing technical marketing collateral for the HP 2009 roll-out of next generation servers. In that position she also developed technical sales collateral for a partnership between HP and Novell, writing solution briefs, customer presentations, and competitive positioning assets. Prior to the HP project, she worked for Connect Press Ltd, as a writer, editor, and community moderator of the ProE community of CAD engineers at ProE.com.

Cynthea moved to New Mexico in 2002 from Minnesota, where she wrote technical communications for manufacturing firms, including 3M, Imation Corporation, and the Toro Company. At Toro, she served as the communications liaison between the Information Services department and the rest of the organization, affectionately describing her role as “de-geeking geek speak.”

Ms. Kinnaman also owns and manages a destination event company. She lives in the East Mountains with her husband Chris (aka Airplane Guy) and their adopted mutt, Midnight, a black lab/chow mix.
